How we handle listener gestures and creator data
Last updated: April 18, 2026
1. Creator Data
For creators, we store account credentials, uploaded audio assets, and release settings (expiry, link type). This data is stored securely to maintain your private library.
2. Listener Interaction Data
When you listen to a track, we record anonymous interaction signals: gestures (touch samples), scrubbing patterns, loops, and session duration. This data is used to generate heatmaps for the creator. It does not contain your name or contact information.
3. Technical & Security Logs
We may collect approximate IP addresses and device identifiers solely for rate-limiting, abuse prevention, and enforcing link policies (e.g., single-use links). This data is periodically purged.
4. No Third-Party Tracking
Murmur does not sell data to advertisers or use cross-site tracking pixels. Our analytics are internal to the platform and focused exclusively on audio engagement.
5. Data Rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access or delete your data. Because listener data is largely anonymous, we may require additional information to process such requests.
